Wide Range Data Collection
- SkyLINK – a radio data
transmission system of a new dimension – is suited where
probes or signal transmitters with a very low power consumption
shall be operated autonomously (with battery) over a longer period
of time. The minimal power consumption is the re-quirement for
maintenance free operation lasting several years.
- SkyLINK is an extremely efficient
solution: The costs for installation of the transmitter are low
because no cabling is necessary. The permanent costs of operation
are minimal be-cause no significant fees accrue for third parties,
f. ex. for data transmission.
We have proved the efficiency of SkyLINK
for various sites:
Data acquisition in densely populated regions
With a suitable location for the receiver unit, say in the
highlands, the data of the transmitters can typically be collected in
a range of 100 km. One single receiver unit can cover the total of a
densely populated area, f. ex. the Rhine-Main area, the area of Paris
or London.
Data acquisition in wide areas
Well-chosen locations allow an extraordinary coverage.
From the Zugspitz mountain, the highest location in Germany we
have proved to cover with SkyLINK a complete
area. At a four weeks lasting test set-up distances of far above
100 km could be bridged. Also data of a probe located on the
mountain Wasserkuppe could be received on Zugspitz mountain in a
distance of 350 km without any problems.
