Calibration with Reference to National Radon Standards
Importance is given to the correctness of the radon concentration measured with
. Therefore the factory calibration of is based on recognized activity standards of
NIST (USA), NPL (GB) and PTB (FRG). A verification was effected by 15 calibration laboratories
worldwide by means of the "International Calibration Experiment - ICE '94". Also the US
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had tested 5 radon monitors. It determined a mean deviation
of the target value of only +/- 2 rel-%. The results of all the calibration laboratories were a
mean deviation of the target values of only 0,4 rel. %.
High accuracy of radon measurements with monitors is guaranteed by multiple reference
of their calibration to accepted radon standards.
